Rock Skills Introduction - Mountain Training

This is an ideal course for beginner climbers with little to no experience climbing on rock. We’ll explore the basic skills that will progress you into becoming a more competent climber; from understanding technical rope work skills to utilising the fundamentals of movement and balance. This course is aimed at people looking to get into climbing on real rock.

This is a 2-day course providing you with plenty of opportunities to learn, practice and get climbing and will take place in the beautiful Dartmoor National Park. You must be at least 18 years old and have an average fitness level with respect to being able to walk a short way to the crag and partake in climbing. Rock Skills Intermediate - Mountain Training

This 2 day course is designed to teach and develop your technical and environmental climbing skills for intermediate climbers.

Mountain Skills - Mountain Training

This is a 2 day course ideal for those who want to develop their confidence in the mountains and improve their navigation skills. The Mountain Skills course is a great first step to learning the skills and techniques required to enjoy mountain walking, learn more about the environment, what risks associated with mountain walking and how to manage them.

Participants should have some basic hill walking experience and a reasonable level of fitness. Courses are run in the higher mountain areas of the UK and Ireland. 

Hill Skills - Mountain Training

This is a 2 day walking and navigation course ideal for beginners and those who are relatively new to hill walking and navigation skills.

Lowland Leader Assessment - In association with Mark Garland Mountaineering

The Lowland Leader Assessment, is a two day (16 hour) practical assessment course, designed to assess people who wish to lead groups on day walks in lowland countryside and woodland settings in summer conditions.

Camping Leader Assessment - In association with Mark Garland Mountaineering

This is a 1 day assessment course, that aims to asses your competence in the supervision of groups in a camping setting.
